31 Days of Final Fantasy: DAY 3
Favorite Antagonist
I’ve always heard mixed reactions about Sin, but in my mind he was a terrifying, looming dread that was always plaguing the story-line of Final Fantasy X. Many people might say that Sephiroth is a better antagonist, or even Seymour Guado from the same installment, but Sin always gets my vote because he was built up so high and so powerful through the dialogue and circumstances in the game that by the end of it the goal wasn’t even to kill it, it was to put it back to sleep. Throughout the game you feel this horrible sense of uselessness because no matter how far you develop your characters on their Sphere Grid you know that Sin will AT LEAST kill Yuna, and you wont even have the gratification of sending his ass to oblivion afterward, he’ll just wake back up in ten(?) years.
Luckily the plot line breaks the Sin cycle and he’s not that difficult of a boss (Not including the battle INSIDE that I wont ruin for people who haven’t played), but nonetheless Sin was terrifying through the game and definitely gets my vote for best Antagonist.
